Alessandro Gilardino Nicodemi (Ivrea, September 15, 1974)
is a painter who has devoted many years to revitalizing the Piedmontese painting tradition through the lens of his own personal sensitivity.
The adopted son of the renowned guitarist and composer Angelo Gilardino, he developed his humanistic education alongside the musician, exploring literature, music, and the visual arts across multiple dimensions.
Having trained under the Vercelli-based master painter Gastone Cecconello beginning in 2004, he soon began exhibiting his work in a number of solo exhibitions, including:
- Palazzo della Pretura, Castell’Arquato (2011)
- Castello del Ricetto, Villata (2012)
- Sala d’Arte Comunale, Aosta (2013)
- Salone Dugentesco, Vercelli (2016)
In 2017, he was awarded the Umberto Ravello Prize as a “true talent in the arts” by the Memorial del Folk Association of Vercelli.
Among his collectors are prominent figures from the Italian cultural scene, including film director Marco Tullio Giordana and Gianni Nuti, Mayor of Aosta.
His paintings favor an intimate and transfigured interpretation of the Piedmontese landscape, conceived as a space for reflection and dialogue between the artist and a reality that remains elusive—one that can only be approached through an endless interplay of references, echoes, and correspondences.
